Clinical Hypnotherapy & other psychotherapeutic approaches to help you put your mind to changing your life.

Imagine how your life would change if you could…

  • Feel calmer and better able to cope, either generally or in specific situations
  • Increase your confidence and self-esteem, and change limiting beliefs about yourself
  • Get on with living life in the present and put negative past experiences behind you
  • Be free of a habit, like smoking or nail-biting
  • Take control of your eating and get rid of excess weight
  • Enjoy restful sleep and wake feeling refreshed and more energetic
  • Ease, or maybe even eliminate, the symptoms of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
  • Rid yourself of something that’s holding you back – something that’s within you, but seems out of your control

Imagine being able to change your life for the better just by putting your mind to your problem…

You may be thinking: ‘Well, I have put my mind to the problem – I’ve thought about it, talked to others about it; I’ve even tried to ‘will it away’ somehow, yet nothing’s really changed, so what else can I do?’  What you can do is put a different part of your mind to the problem and discover how to use its power in a more beneficial way.

Hypnotherapy could help you do just that.

Hypnotherapy works directly with that ‘different part’ of the mind – the subconscious part. By dealing with the problem at its source, hypnotherapy could be what ‘does the trick’ when thinking, talking, willpower and other things you may have tried have had little or no effect.

The ‘hypno’ part of the equation simply makes use of a natural state we all enter whenever we focus our attention on a particular activity, such as reading or watching television, over which we have complete personal control at all times.

Hypnosis is a pleasant state of calmness and relaxation and isn’t actually sleep, though because it’s so relaxing, you may perhaps fall asleep if you’re tired. You can leave the state whenever you wish, and no-one can make you think, say or do anything you don’t want to – as a responsible clinical hypnotherapist, I have no interest whatsoever in getting people to cluck like chickens, impersonate Elvis Presley, or perform any of the other antics you may have heard about or seen, because I’m in the business of empowerment, not entertainment!

So all hypnosis actually does is create a relaxed state of mental focus that allows the ‘therapy’ part of the equation to do its work, because the subconscious part of the mind becomes more receptive to beneficial suggestions and more willing to let go of what lies behind negative thoughts, feelings and beliefs.

About Jayne:

I’m an accredited member of the APHP (Association for Professional Hypnosis and Psychotherapy) and registered for hypnotherapy with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

I originally trained at the Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, and gained diplomas in Clinical Hypnosis with Psychotherapy and Advanced Hypnoanalysis in November 2004, so have now been in clinical practice for almost 15 years.

I’ve also had additional professional training in:

  • Human Givens Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • BWRT (Brain Working Recursive Therapy)

  • NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
  • ‘Gut-directed’ Hypnotherapy for IBS

And… I know what it’s like to feel stuck – to want to be rid of a problem, move forward and get on with life, but not know how.  I’ve had personal experience of quite a few of the challenges my clients are facing when they first come to see me, so have at least some understanding of how you may be feeling right now.  I also know it’s possible to overcome those challenges and bring about positive change using the power of the mind and I could help you do the same.
